The most immediate archaeological sites in central Sardinia from Abbasanta are two, and they sit in the same territory: Nuraghe Losa, between Abbasanta and Paulilatino, and the Santa Cristina well, a few minutes from the hotel. This is not a catalogue of the island. It is the piece of prehistory you visit without changing base, coming back to sleep in a 2019 four-star with a patio on the garden. Regia Hotel is three hundred metres from the SS 131, Abbasanta exit towards the SP 15.
You leave in the morning, you return for lunch or the evening. The rooms are on the ground floor, on the cork-oak garden; parking is free. Central Sardinia is full of lesser nuraghi. Losa and Santa Cristina are the two an Abbasanta guest can visit without prior study and without an hour of dual carriageway towards another province.

Nuraghe Losa rises in the Guilcer countryside with a shape still easy to read: central tower and bastions, stone and the low sky of the plateau. It is one of the most direct visits from Abbasanta, often the first. We do not tell construction dates or prices: you arrive, you walk around and inside as far as the site allows that day, you look at the countryside.
Around it remain the paths and, further on, Lake Omodeo and the Santa Chiara dam. Losa is not an island in a void: it is a point in the Barigadu, close to the village and the main road. That is why it pairs well with a short stay. Half a day is enough; if you want more, you stretch towards the water or return to the hotel and leave again in the afternoon towards the well.
From the garden of Regia Hotel the visit has a short return. You lunch at Da Samu restaurant or at Da Samu pizzeria. Anyone in transit on the 131 keeps Losa as the only cultural stop and is already in a Comfort room in the evening. Anyone staying longer pairs it with Santa Cristina, without changing the village where they sleep.
Losa is architecture to be read from outside and from inside, depending on how it can be visited that day. You leave time to walk the bastions. You do not treat it as a five-minute selfie.
Paulilatino and Abbasanta share the countryside: the nuraghe is the most visible mark of that landscape, not an attraction detached from the hotel.
The Santa Cristina well is one of the best-preserved Nuragic sacred wells on the island. The stair drops towards the water with a geometry you remember: that is why anyone staying in Abbasanta puts it on the list. A few minutes from the hotel, in the same radius as Losa. The complex also includes the village and the rural church.
We do not publish opening hours. They change, and they are not a hotel fact. You check on site, you go in, you go down, you come out in the village enclosure. The rest of the day can go to the nuraghe, the lake, or back towards Abbasanta. The Antonio Gramsci house museum in Ghilarza, if time remains, sits in the same inland.
Santa Cristina also holds on its own, in a morning. It still makes sense to keep it in the wider story of archaeological sites in central Sardinia: it is not an isolated attraction, it is the second step after Losa, or the first if you prefer sacred water to the tower. In both cases you sleep in Abbasanta.
You go down to the well slowly. The stair is the reason for the visit; the village completes it. Anyone short of time does only the well and returns. Anyone with a full afternoon also stops at the church.
Photography is allowed within the site’s limits. Respecting other visitors is part of the same day that then closes in a rural hotel, not a beach resort.
A full day holds both. You leave after breakfast in the fireplace room, you do one site in the morning and the other in the afternoon, with lunch in between at the hotel or nearby. The order is free: Losa then the well, or the reverse. The SS 131 and the SP 15 keep both moves short. You do not need a paid guide to understand the geography: you need a car and a bed to come back to.
If the light or the will drops, you cut and keep Lake Omodeo for the next day. Oristano, under thirty minutes, and the Sinis — San Giovanni di Sinis, Is Arutas, Torregrande — stay for another outing. Cagliari, Orosei and Alghero about an hour. The mistake is wanting to close the island in twenty-four hours starting from the nuraghi.
On the way back the garden closes the day. Seasonal pool in summer, Wi-Fi in the building, Comfort, Superior or Superior with a whirlpool pool on the patio, heated water and chromotherapy. The 2019 four-star is not a farm stay beside the digs: it is a hotel from which the sites are reached and to which you return. To choose a room go to all rooms; for the two monuments the sheets on Losa and Santa Cristina remain.
Two sites in a day is a full programme, not a heroic one. You drink, you eat, you come back. If it rains, you reverse the order or you postpone: the hotel is there for that, not to force a calendar on you.
Anyone who wants only archaeology can stay three nights and use Abbasanta as a fixed base. The coasts remain about an hour away when a contrast of sea is needed.
