A hotel halfway between Cagliari and Sassari serves anyone who has already chosen the axis and only has to decide where to stop. The SS 131 is the spine of the island: Abbasanta is its central exit. Regia Hotel, a four-star from 2019, sits three hundred metres from that exit, towards the SP 15, at Strada Provinciale n. 15 sn. It is a Sardinia hotel for a road-trip stop: you arrive in the evening, you dine, you sleep, you leave in the morning.

The hotel takes the noise of the main road away as soon as you enter the cork-oak garden. Patio, ground floor, quiet. It is a rural four-star, not a motel on the verge. The difference is felt in the morning, when you leave rested and not “survivors of a transit night”. You can go out towards Olbia or Nuoro the same afternoon and come back to sleep here. The hotel should not claim to be the centre of your life: it should claim to be the centre of your map.

You leave north or south. No programmes are needed: the building has to hold the hours of people who travel, and the offices are open every day in daytime slots.
The rooms, all on the garden, avoid stairs and long corridors with a suitcase. Comfort also takes single beds. Superior adds space and a wellness kit if the stop is also a small breath. The Superior with a whirlpool pool on the patio, heated water and chromotherapy, is for anyone who wants to stop for real, even for one night.

The choice is practical. Comfort if you sleep and leave: it is the stop room, also as a single. Superior if you want more square metres, the wellness kit, breakfast in the room on request. Whirlpool if the private water is worth the extra night, or the same night spent better. All three look onto the garden.
There is no fourth category. There is no upper floor. The 2019 four-star holds these three measures and keeps them close to the hall, the restaurant, the pizzeria and the parking. You choose, you arrive, you go out again on the 131.
